Issues
Since attending a public hearing of the Planning Commission regarding the rezoning of the old Busbee Middle School lot earlier this year, I have become involved and invested in this process. I have worked with neighbors to engage with the city and learned how we can work together to make the best use of this space. This experience has taught me more than I ever expected, and it has renewed my commitment to be an active citizen. I want to be part of continuing to help Cayce grow in a way that keeps what makes it amazing. The city has to work to meet the needs of current and future residents and maintain the balance of history and growth.
I also want to help increase communication between the city's government and its residents. I have learned many people are not aware of how to be involved or what decisions are made until they have already happened. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn and have their voices heard. I believe being a council member means making these connections and cultivating relationships with the community. This work is not just about what a handful of people decide but about what residents need and what is best for Cayce. I want to create new and effective avenues to make this happen.
